How to choose the perfect bracelet for your wrist size

Have you ever wondered how to choose the perfect bracelet for your wrist size? It can be a tricky task, especially if you don't know what kind of fit and style you’re looking for. An easy way to find the right bracelet size is to measure your wrist then find a bracelet that fits comfortably and looks great.

Check out our tips below to help you choose the perfect size bracelet and feel confident you’ve made the right choice.

Average women's wrist size for bracelet

When it comes to finding the perfect bracelet size for women, comfort and style are key. Knowing your wrist size can help you determine which type of bracelet will look best on you.

The average wrist size for women is between 14 cm and 16.5 cm (or 5.5 to 6.5 inches), obviously depending on body type, age, and a multitude of other factors. To ensure that your bracelet fits comfortably and looks stylish, it's important to measure your wrist accurately before making a purchase. We’ve got more information on how to do this below.

We know buying online can be difficult for something as personal as a bracelet, but knowing the average size can help point you in the right direction.

Bracelet size for small wrist

Are you looking for the perfect bracelet size for small wrists? Whether you are a teenager, petite adult or someone with a smaller wrist size, finding the right fit can be a bit of a challenge. But don't worry! We have some tips on how to choose the most comfortable and stylish bracelet size if you’re on the smaller size.

A ‘small wrist’ would generally measure around 14cm or under.

When buying a bracelet for a person with a small wrist, opt for one that is easily customisable. Either get something they can adjust themselves or a style that can have the size adjusted by a professional jeweller. Chain bracelets and link bracelets are great for this as they are easily made smaller without damaging any of the details or, they can  wear it as an anklet if it’s really too big.

Whichever style you choose, just make sure it won’t slide off easily or get caught on clothes unnecessarily. You don’t want to be losing your brand new piece on the first outing!

Bracelet size for big wrist

If you're someone with a larger wrist, getting the perfect size bracelet can be frustrating. But thankfully, there are now many options available to make finding the right fit easier than ever before.

A ‘larger wrist’ would generally measure around 16.5 cm or over.

You can choose from adjustable bracelets, custom-made pieces and many other options - so no matter your wrist size, there's something out there for everyone! But that doesn't mean you should settle for a size that is too small or too big. If you feel your bracelet is too tight, try exchanging it for another style. As a rule of thumb, we recommend going with a slightly larger size than you may be used to, and if you like oversize pieces and bangles then size up!

How to measure wrist size for bracelet

Knowing your wrist size is essential if you want to buy a bracelet that fits perfectly. Fortunately, measuring your wrist size for a bracelet is an easy process. All you need is a flexible measuring tape and some basic instructions. To measure your wrist size:

  1. Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist where your bracelet or bangle would sit.
  2. Take note of the measurement. Usually the tape will have cm and inches which is useful depending on where you’re purchasing from.

If you don’t have a measuring tape, you can cut a piece of paper or string to wrap around your wrist then measure against a ruler to figure your best size. If it’s a gift you can measure a bracelet she already has to get a good gauge on the size.

When measuring just remember not to wrap it too tight. You want your jewellery to have room to move naturally but not so big it’s going to constantly fall off or drive you nuts.
